Summary

When a tag contains one of "[", "]" and "|", filtering search by the tag results in errors.


Error Details

Unable to get search results. Something went wrong, and we couldn’t complete your search. Try again later.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log on to Tableau Server.
  2. Create and publish a workbook.
  3. Tag the workbook with the following tags (without quotes): "[a", "a]", "[a]" and "a|b".
  4. Navigate to the Explore page.
  5. Enter part of the workbook name, e.g. "Superstore", in the top-right search box to find the workbook(s).
  6. Near the top of the search result list, among the four filters "Content type", "Owner", "Modified" and "Tags", click on "Tags".
  7. Choose from the drop-down list one of the tags enter at step 3.

Notice an error "Unable to get search results - Something went wrong, and we couldn’t complete your search. Try again later." appears on the page.
