Summary

After initially creating an extract for a Salesforce connection in either Tableau Desktop 2024.2 or Tableau Cloud Web Authoring, the "incremental refresh" option is greyed out.

Steps to Reproduce

Tableau Cloud:

1: In Tableau Cloud, create a new published datasource by connecting to a Salesforce instance.

2: Drag a table to canvas.

3: Click Scratchpad to create extract.

4: Publish the datasource.

5: Set schedule on this published datasource.

6: The incremental refresh option is unavailable.

Tableau Desktop 2024.2:

1: In Tableau Desktop, connect to a Salesforce instance.

2: Drag a table to canvas.

3: Click on sheet to create extract.

4: Wait for extract to be finished。

5: Click on top bar menu Data-> (datasourcename) -> Extract

6: Note that there is only an option for Refresh (Full) when an option for Refresh (Incremental) should exist as well.

Workaround

Create and publish Salesforce datasource using Tableau Desktop 2023.2 - 2024.1
