An error occurs when editing existing Amazon S3 data source on Tableau Server.

Error Details

[SQLSTATE:22000] Could not determine size of S3 object: Error in the provided storage system: http-status: 403 (Forbidden) aws-s3-bucket-name: ***backet name*** Unable to connect to the Amazon S3 server "". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database. Or LogicException: Internal Error - An unexpected error occurred and the operation could not be completed. Or "[SQLSTATE:58030] error opening database 'DatabaseID': There was an error during loading database: Unable to read header: Error while communicating with S3: http-status: 499"

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Prepare Tableau Server 2023.3.3.
  2. Download .taco file from https://exchange.tableau.com/en-us/products/868, and put it into following directory.
    1.   C:\ProgramData\Tableau\Tableau Server\data\tabsvc\vizqlserver\Connectors
  3. Restart Tableau Server.
  4. Open new "Published Data Source" on Tableau Server.
  5. Click [Amazon S3] in Connectors.
  6. Connect to the S3 backet.
  7. Select a text file, then click "Connect".
  8. Select "Extract".
  9. Publish the data source to Tableau Server.
  10. Click "Edit Data Source" button for the published data source, then the issue occurs.

Workaround

There isn't a workaround for this issue yet.
